Where our purpose for processing is: Provision of medical services including the dispensing of medical appliances and devices to patients.
Which is necessary because:
For patients: In order to process your prescriptions, medical information including your personal details and medication requirements, as well as the prescription provided by the NHS spine, needs to be shared with your designated agent (in most cases your nominated Pharmacy as per your consent request). This information is not shared with any other third party and is exclusively used for the provision of medical services.
For agents: In order to process prescriptions for your nominated patients, we require the transfer and sharing of information between ourselves and you through secured, encrypted means.
We process your information in the following ways: This personal data will be assessed by a member of our Dispensing Appliance team who will review it for safety and accuracy before transmitting it to your designated agent for dispensing. Once dispensed, this information will be conveyed back to the Dispensing Appliance team for payment processing with the NHS. This information is only shared for the following reasons:
(a)To dispense and ensure your receipt of your prescriptions in an appropriate and timely manner
(b)To complete payment processing with the NHS
(c)To resolve any queries that you or your medical team (i.e. GP, consultant, nurse, pharmacist) may have about the safe provision of supplies to you
(d)To comply with any data sharing requests, as required by law
Data retention period : Your information will be retained for the duration required by law. We will continue to process your information under this basis until you withdraw consent or it is determined your consent no longer exists.
Sharing your information : We do not share your information with third parties (i.e. parties not involved in the provision and/or reimbursement for provision of medical care to you), unless required by law.
If, as determined by us, the lawful basis upon which we process your personal information changes, we will notify you about the change and any new lawful basis to be used if required. We shall stop processing your personal information if the lawful basis used is no longer relevant.
